Education Programs

The FTUB believes that the meaning and representation of education, knowledge, wisdom and intuition are very deep and complex. That is an issue of school of thought. FTUB recognizes that this is the age of knowledge-based societies and knowledge-based economies (KBE).

The Global Labour Market is also shifting rapidly with modern technology development, Multinational and Transnational Cooperation' foreign direct investments and international financial movement. Therefore, FTUB believes, we must invest in our future generation's education sector in order to compete, be creative and be able to participate in the global labour market.

As a union, to achieve social-capital growth and social profit maximization, FTUB, can only invest in non-formal education sector. We, the FTUB are constrained by both human and financial resources. The following are FTU-B' Education Programs:

1.         Basic and Advance Trade Unions Trainings
FTUB has been providing basic and advance trade union trainings to working people along the Burma's borders. FTUB has published some basic and advance trade union rights' book-lets and leaflets. It has translated some TUR-HR related booklets and training manuals in ethnic languages such as Karen, Karenni, Shan, Lahu and Mon.
More over, FTUB has sent some leaders and members to be trained by International Confederation of Trade Unions Congress- Asia-Pacific Regional Organization (ICFTU-APRO)' "Advance Leadership Course" in Singapore.

2.         The ILO' ITC Trainings for FTUB
Since 2003, International Training Center of ILO/ ACTRAV has been giving Trade Union Training on International Labour Standard (ILS) and Freedom of Association (FOA) for leaders and senior members of FTUB and its affiliates in Thailand and India. Some senior members and leaders of FTUB are also trained by ILO' International Training Center, ITC in Turin in Italy.
